Out of network provider

I do not take insurance and am considered an out of network provider. Here's what that means for you, and why I've chosen this approach.

Using your out of network benefits

Invoices and superbills are emailed monthly or accessible through your client portal. You may submit these to your insurance carrier for reimbursement, should your plan allow it.

We recommend checking with your carrier before your intake. CPT codes used:

90791 — Intake 90837 — Individual Therapy

Common diagnosis codes: F43.20 F41.9 — your actual code may differ based on assessment.

Why I don't take insurance

Your access. Insurance companies can restrict the number of sessions you receive. I believe your care should be guided by your needs, not a carrier's limits.

Your confidentiality. Insurance requires a diagnosis and can request session notes. What happens in session stays between us.

Your future. Diagnoses submitted to insurance can affect future health insurance premiums. I want to protect you from that.

About sessions

Yes, both are available. In-person sessions are held in Bellevue, WA. Virtual sessions are available to anyone in Washington State.
Session frequency is determined based on assessments and your individual needs. That said, I'm flexible, if every other week or once a month works better for you, we can make that happen.
I require 24-hour notice prior to your scheduled appointment to cancel. Unless this advance notice is provided, you will be charged the full fee for a missed or cancelled appointment.
I adhere to a strict confidentiality policy and will not disclose any information you share with me without your written permission. If you sign a release of information, I'm happy to coordinate with other medical providers on your behalf.

There are a few exceptions where I am mandated by law to break confidentiality, these are explained in full in my professional disclosure statement.
I do not prescribe medication. However, I work in close collaboration with highly recommended psychiatrists and physicians who can evaluate the need for medication when clinically indicated.
Yes. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I am trained and authorized to diagnose mental health conditions. Not all clients require a formal diagnosis, but we may discuss one if it helps clarify your struggles, guides treatment planning, or is required for insurance reimbursement.

A diagnosis is a working tool, something we collaborate on together, not something applied without your knowledge.

About RO DBT

Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO DBT) is a specialized form of therapy designed for people who tend toward overcontrol, meaning they may value self discipline, structure, and getting things right, but struggle with flexibility, emotional expression, or feeling deeply connected to others.

While traditional DBT focuses on helping people regulate intense emotions, RO DBT focuses on something different: helping you loosen rigid patterns that may be keeping you stuck or isolated.

RO DBT works by strengthening:
  • Emotional openness, being able to experience and express what you feel
  • Flexibility, adapting when things don't go as planned
  • Social connection, feeling more understood and connected in relationships
Many people who benefit from RO DBT are high achieving, thoughtful, and responsible, but underneath may feel lonely, misunderstood, or exhausted from always holding it together.

RO DBT is about learning how to experience more ease, connection, and fulfillment in your life.
